FourandHalfStars

This was a great, fast-paced read with lots to hold my interest.

I really liked both Sam and Rob. They had terrific chemistry. I’m not normally a fan of stringing readers along when there’s something going on with a character, but I felt it worked in this case. There were plenty of clues.

The way Rob refused to be honest with Sam had me both sympathetic and wanting to smack some sense into him. The way they kept talking past each other felt real.

There were only a couple of things I noticed. First, there were a few times toward the beginning when I thought the author relied too much on telling us things and not enough on showing it. Second, the way the thing with Rob was resolved wasn’t realistic. He’d have needed to tell Sam eventually anyway because he’d have needed follow-up after the initial issue was done.

Other than that, this was an enjoyable story with great characters, and I’m glad I read it.

ThreeandHalfStars
This book was a sweet romance.  The writing flowed very well.  I thought Sam was a sweet, quiet guy who worked very hard.  Rob was a musician and kept way too many secrets.
They did struggle through a lot of issues while getting to know each other.  There were a lot of secondary characters that played a part throughout the whole story.

I didn’t feel there was much to the story except for a lot of misunderstandings and secrets.  I felt that there were too many characters introduced in the beginning, and I found it hard to keep track of them.  I would have liked to have a little more to their romance.
