I really liked this book and the inclusion of the world of being a concert violinist.
The plot is fun and a bit twisted. I did feel at times like I didn’t full understand or get the connection or reason behind Milan’s actions. However, I did get part of the attraction and desire between the main characters.
I don’t know at the end of the book that I would particularily want to know more about the characters as I was just at a meh point since it all seemed a bit rushed and disconnected from the build up to that point.
There are certainly some decent naughty scenes in the book, but not as hot as some others I’ve read.

Synopsis

4.5 Stars

This is the third book in this series, but the first one I read. It truly was a stand alone, but we got to meet one of the couples from one of the other books (I assume since they were a 3-way male couple).
Bryce is openly gay, when outside of work that is. He doesn’t want to be judged at the firehouse so he keeps it to himself. He is attracted to two of the younger guys who are always messing around with each other. Although he is suspicious that there is more than friendship going on between them, he isn’t sure and doesn’t want to get involved with people he works with anyway.
Matt and Toby make it hard for Bryce to resist and one night after too many beers Bryce opens up and shares a story he’s never told anyone and things spin out of control from there. Although Bryce doesn’t want to admit it, he’s fallen for them.
This story was a great way to write an insta-love story. I normally don’t care for them, but this was perfect because they had enough background and situations to make it believable for me even if it was only a month that had passed.
I really enjoyed the drama and torment the characters went through while trying to make the decisions that they felt were right versus what was easy. The naughty scenes were pretty hot too, which is always a good thing.
The only thing I found wrong with the story is that the speech and tone from the characters became almost repetitive and all three men ended up not having any personality or difference in their dialogues.
Other than that, great job. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Excerpt

“They’re watching you again,” Mason spoke in a low voice as he whizzed past Bryce, carrying drinks to the opposite end of the bar.

“You’re imagining things again.” Ever since Mason swore that Toby and Matt, who’d become regulars at the bar after Bryce started working there, were gay and interested in Bryce, he’d been teasing Bryce about their interest.

Bryce told himself not to look, but he couldn’t help glancing toward the corner booth where they always preferred to sit before going back to wiping down the bar. Did they sit there because it gave them a good view of the bar? Bryce scowled. No way in hell were his hands shaking. No way in hell was he letting himself get his hopes up. Even if they were gay, even if they were interested in him, starting something with two guys from work would be the pinnacle of idiocy. Hell, getting involved with more than one guy was insane from the start. Just because Mason and his boyfriends had made a threesome work didn’t make it realistic for Bryce. There was an exception to every rule.

“You’re wrong,” Bryce said as he passed Mason on his way to take a customer’s order.

Mason snorted in reply.

Bryce was glad to see the bar was filling up. He did not need to spend the next hour telling himself not to look at Toby and Matt. He did plenty of that at the firehouse. Toby’s smile could heat up and entire room and Bryce never wanted to look away from it, unless it was to contemplate running his hands through Matt’s wavy brown hair while staring into his dark eyes.

But if Mason was right and they were gay, maybe they really were lovers. If so, he had no business approaching them, whether they were watching him or not. Just because they liked to look didn’t mean they wanted to play. They didn’t need him fucking up whatever they had going.

Plus, they worked together. They were a team, with people’s lives on the line.

The line at the bar grew long, and Bryce got busy taking orders, making drinks, and ringing people up at the register. When things finally slowed down, he needed a bathroom break. As he headed to the back, he noticed Matt and Toby playing pool with a couple of guys he recognized as regulars. Toby waved and he waved back, hating the way his pulse accelerated. What the hell was wrong with him?

He pushed open the door of the restroom but failed to check his instinct to glance back over his shoulder. Toby’s eyes were glued to his ass. There was no doubt about it this time. He whirled back around before their gazes had a chance to meet.

So Toby wasn’t straight. Bryce had to admit that now. He was gay or at least bi, but he was just appreciating the scenery. That didn’t mean anything. Bryce appreciated guys’ asses all the time.

When Bryce left the bathroom, Toby and Matt were leaning in close, talking, arguing actually based on the angry expressions on their faces. Bryce hurried back to work, glad he didn’t have to decide whether to speak to them or not. Several minutes later, Toby appeared at the bar. Mason, the little bastard, wasn’t busy, but he made no move to take Toby’s order.

“What can I get you?” Bryce asked.

“Just cashing out our tab.” Our? Maybe Toby was just buying that night.

“Sure.” Bryce looked Toby’s name up in the register, ran his card, and handed him the receipt to sign.

“Thanks,” Toby said, flashing a smile that made his eyes twinkle. How was it that he made that single word sound flirtatious? Bryce was supposed to be the one who flirted, the one in control of a situation, but despite Toby being so much younger, Bryce ended up flustered every time they spoke.

This was the last part of the Boys in Blue series and it was about James. He knows he is gay but doesn’t want to admit it to anyone, not even himself. That is until he gets a new roommate, who he didn’t know was gay until he is fighting unwanted emotions.
I actually liked James. He was a bit harder than the men in the other books, but he also didn’t want to admit he was gay so I understood it. The only part I didn’t like is it seemed like everyone was so against admitting they were gay, I’d have liked to have them admit that they were bi or admit that they were maybe into men but also women instead of it always being one way or the other at least for curiosity sake before they go from always loving women to not only loving men.
All in all another good story from Mia and I can’t wait to read more of her work!

This was a more challenging installment of this series for me. Our two men are both openly gay, although it doesn’t seem that way. One appears gay while the other is more macho making people not think of him in that light.
There were times when I wanted to grab and shake each character for their hardheadedness because they both wanted the same things, only had a much harder time getting there because of appearances and prejudices within the gay community.
In the end, things were beautiful just like all the other Boys in Blue book even though at times I really wondered if they could make it there…. And we got a bit of insight into who the next story is very likely going to be about.

This was my favorite couple so far in the Boys in Blue series. Two cops, one that is out and one that is still in the closet.
There is a murder case going on that keeps pulling the two together.
The dynamics of the couple was intriguing. The battle of one to ignore his attraction because he simply can’t go back to hiding who he is after the difficulty of coming out while the other faces the impossible decision of coming out to be with someone when there is no certainty it will last.
Another hot story from Mia with characters that you connect quickly with and want to see things work out for.

This was a continuation of Mack and Geo’s relationship from Book 1 in the series.
We get to see what happens when Geo’s ex fiancee comes back into town and takes over the big case they’ve been working on. Can Mack handle the amount of jealousy he encounters? Does their relationship stand up against an old flame?
Once again Mia Watts just amazes me. It was really great seeing how their relationship grew and the men themselves learned new things not only about their partner, but themselves.
The sex was hotter, the frustration was palpable and the conclusion was exciting. I can’t wait to see where the next couple leads to!

This was a story about two straight cops that discover they might not be as straight as they once thought after a few too many beers are consumed.
It’s a quick, sexy read that I found hard to put down.
Geo has a hard time not thinking sexual thoughts about his partner after a week filled with naughty dreams featuring the two of them together. Mack can’t believe Geo had the guts to kiss him when he’s trying to get Geo home after drinking too much. What he is really surprised about is his own reaction to the kiss and his inability to stop thinking about it.
Both are surprised by their unexpected attraction to their partner and the reactions they have after their first kiss… and more.
The only problem I really had was that neither of them wanted to admit they were gay, which is fine, but they never once considered they could be bisexual since they were both not only attracted to each other, but women as well.

I was extremely impressed with this installation of the Hollywood Hotties Series. I loved Cree and Evan.
Evan is looking to find his dead beat dad that left his mother pregnant and alone. Working for Cree is only a means to an end. Until he realizes that the persona that Cree hides behind is just that, a shield to keep the rest of the world out.
Cree has been used many times in his life and being a celebrity only made it worse. However, when Even starts to find links to his father, he starts to see that there is more to the man who is his assistant.
There is instalove situation, however, for once, it worked for me. This story wrenched my heart out and even made me tear up because I was that connected to the characters even though it is a short story. I felt like the characters connected in the heat of the moment, but everything they went through and finding out the real man behind the different facades they used helped them establish so much real quick.
I can’t wait for the next part of this story and can’t wait to see where Mia takes the next characters!

Cree Radek and Evan Walker are a couple that I wouldn’t normally put together.

I enjoyed their banter, their chemistry was somewhat there, but found that the book felt really rushed.

I really wanted more from the story about Evan and his family. It was just kind of left. I did enjoy his mom and her perspective, but overall, I wanted more from that side of things. However, I did really like how Evan described his life. It was not as if he was really “lost” or some of the cliché things that authors do in stories like this one.

I also really liked how Cree was able to come out of his own shell a little in this book. I enjoyed the way he tried to take care and despite being hurt, he was able to put his feelings aside and really learn how to forgive.

This was a good story; it just left a little more for me to want.

Title: Caught on Camera: Part Five
Author Name: Lily Harlem
Publication Date: February 20, 2015

Synopsis

Coming down from a high can sometimes result in a crash—but not if handled with care.

Reece’s experience filming the last scene of Slippery Slots has left him drained, satisfied and in need of some serious aftercare. He’s been branded, taken to new heights of pleasure and also been more vulnerable than ever before.

But all this makes for a great movie. The heat factor is at boiling point, the up-close-and-personal angles of the camera are deliciously shocking and the chemistry between Reece and his co-star, Cade, is explosive.

Of course, even porn stars have to live in the real world and for Reece, that means returning to his small flat in his English hometown. It’s hard to land in his old life and his need for Cade—not just in his arms but in his life—is more than he can stand.
So when Cade appears on his doorstep with a hot-off-the-press DVD that they’re the two main stars of, things are bound to get frisky, flirty and downright filthy.

Reece has never been happier or more terrified. He’s made his money, made a movie and made love to the man he can’t bear to be apart from.

But does Cade feel the same way, or was it all an act for the camera? There’s only one way to find out, and that’s to remove the layers, the masks and ask the all-important questions.

This was the conclusion of the Caught on Camera series and it was just as HOT and Sexy, but it was also sweet and romantic. I loved seeing the vulnerability in Reece as he wondered where things were going to go since the filming was over. Was Cade going to come around and still want to be with him?
Of course there is a handful of sexy scenes, but I will say the one where they are watching their own movie is HOT. Plus, you can see more of the intimate connection they’ve established since the beginning when the movie starts. I’d nearly forgotten the first scenes so it was a nice little reminder of how things started for them.
Great series with hot men, naughty scenes and believable characters. Normally I don’t care for the instalove stuff, but this was truly insta LUST that turned into something more and I liked that about this series. We saw little steps of growth in the relationship between all the other stuff.

This is the conclusion to the There Was a House Series and what a conclusion.
It’s time. Time for Antoine to get what he deserves.
We finally learn what Phoenix’s plans are to get everyone out.. It includes the Peter Pan look alike and her brother!
Although I’d like to say I was completely surprised by how it all came together. I wasn’t. I had thought of how Antoine came to own Reve and then there was the way her brother played cards… and I was hoping that’d be how things went down..
There was a lot of other things that played out in the book though. Like getting revenge on all those who used and abused the girls (and Jaime) in the house. Or at least the worst of them. While I didn’t foresee how that one came around (not entirely anyway), I liked it. It was a surprise and I’d have liked that scene to have been extended and the cops gotten a little rough with the bastards.
I will say my absolute favorite part is when Miu overhears something she shouldn’t and uses the information she isn’t supposed to know to do some good. That instantly made her my new favorite character and the way she played it off. Beautiful.
I will say there really was a few things that stood out to me that kept it from getting a better rating. I thought the new information we learn about Antoine didn’t particularly fit his lazy persona (or even really his anger issues). Plus I felt like just like the other installments parts of the story were unnecessary and slowed the story down more than necessary.
All in all, a good conclusion to a good story.

Caddy has always been a nonconformist. She likes to push the proverbial envelope when it comes to characterization and world building. Heroes have warts; villains have soft spots. Main characters don’t always learn their lessons because all too often we don’t, either. There isn’t always a happy ending, but sometimes there is. Otherwise she’d be predictable.

She writes for readers who like to think and feel; who like their stories to be raw, graphic, unpredictable, “real” and sometimes brutal. For readers who like their boundaries challenged; to be shown how rarely life decisions are truly black and white, but instead shades of grey.

Think of a carnival midway with books instead of rides. She asks you make sure you’re the minimum height if you plan on riding alone. You must also leave prejudices and inhibitions behind the entry gate. If you can’t, Rowland’s reads might be a tad much for you. Don’t worry. There are plenty of safer reads out there. Just step out of the line and find a more appropriate book for your reading enjoyment.

No, Caddy Rowland’s novels aren’t for everyone. But then again, they just might be for you.
