Title: The Truth As He Knows It
Author Name: A.M. Arthur
Publication Date & Length: February 10, 2015 – 289 pgs

Synopsis

Lies are the chains that keep you weighed down at rock bottom.

Officer Noel Carlson isn’t out to anyone in small-town Stratton, Pennsylvania, only to distant friends and family, so a relationship is out of the question. That doesn’t stop him from wanting one, though.

When a night-shift call brings him face to thonged butt with a hired stripper whose girl-party gig went terribly wrong, Noel takes pity on the guy and lets him go. But he can’t get the encounter out of his mind.

Shane has big-time debts to repay, especially to the brother who sacrificed nearly everything for him. His two jobs, in a deli and as a stripper, leave him no time for a social life. But a non-date of hot sex and takeout food with Noel? He can squeeze that in.

The bond they form is stronger than either expected or wanted. Especially since the step Shane’s about to take to put his brother—and his soul—back in the black isn’t quite legal. And he never calculated just how much his determination to make things right will cost him in the end.

Warning: Following on from the Cost of Repairs series, this book contains a closeted cop who’s looking for love, an indebted stripper who doesn’t believe he’s worthy, and a tasteful abundance of dirty guy sex. Also contains references to past physical abuse some readers may find disturbing.

The things you will do for a loved one.
LOVE the cover!! It’s intense and you can feel it.
This journey with Officer Noel and Stripper Shane pulls you in from the beginning. The author does a phenomenal job of making you feel. I felt like I was in the corner of each page, living it right along with them. I wanted to jump in and hug both Hero’s.. many times!!
Officer Noel Carlson isn’t out to anyone in small-town Stratton, Pennsylvania, only to distant friends and family.
Shane has big-time debts to repay, especially to the brother who sacrificed nearly everything for him. Shane’s two jobs, in a deli and as a stripper, leave him no time for a social life.
When Officer Noel and Stripper Shane meet the first time, there are sparks, but both are “on the job” so to speak. Noel and Shane had traumatic events in their pasts and it leaves them shy to trust someone. What ensues can be described as an intense-sexy hot-heartbreaking-heartwarming journey that you won’t soon forget. There are secrets. There is a friend that Noel is standing by after a traumatic beating left him with the loss of his short-term memory. A brother that embodies everything you want in a family member. He made sacrifices for Shane and your heart will break for him. Every aspect of this journey was handled the way we all wish life was. It was tough, but once out in the open, each issue was dealt with in a timely manner. That is not to say that there weren’t some really gut-wrenching moments, but I loved the way this author didn’t drag out the drama. The sexy time was smoking hot!! A few ugly cry moments that will wrench your heart. A.M. Arthur has a way with words that will stick in your heart!…. everything you want in a romance!!!!
My only disappointment, the side story with Tristan was kind of left up in the air.
Tears and Smiles!!!
If you love vulnerable, masculine sexy men attracted to men (which I am) don’t hesitate, read this!

Have the Kleenex ready. This book was unbelievably good. It was written so well that once you started it, it just flowed and kept you interested.  There were so many emotional events that I was amazed how well everything was handled in the writing.  The author tackled several large issues; bullying, abuse, and loss of loved ones. I was impressed with the  sensitive way that the author captured how Shane felt when he reported the woman from the party.

The love between Noel and Shane was amazing, add in Shane’s brother and there was so much caring.  So many times I found myself breaking out the tissues, I loved how Noel took care of his friend Tristin and how Shane excepted him.
And Shane, so many secrets he needed to keep that I found myself hurting for him.

This was a fantastic read! I loved it and highly recommend this book.

“I want to see you again,” Shane said.

Noel grinned, flashing those dimples. “I’d like that too. My work schedule is pretty weird, though. I’m first shift, which is eleven at night to seven in the morning, five days, starting tomorrow.”

Shane worked that one around. It gave them daytime hours, and evenings on Wednesday and Thursday. He worked at the deli tomorrow, and Saturday was off the table. Probably Sunday too, for good measure. “When do you sleep?”

“Usually when I first get home, from about eight to two or three. Sometimes longer, depending on the night.”

“So you’re usually free dinnertime until like ten?”

“Pretty much.” Noel cracked an unexpected yawn. “Sorry, my schedule is a little off after spending the day with Tristan. I try to keep similar sleep times on my days off so I don’t get too screwed up.”

Shane stood, surprised. “How long have you been awake?”

“About thirty hours.”

“Shit, why didn’t you tell me that?”

“Because I wanted to do this tonight. I’ve been thinking about you all week, and I’m glad I saw you at Mineo’s today. Really glad.”

“Me too.” Shane draped his arms around Noel’s waist. “And since this has been a fantastic night, I’m going to go before you pass out from exhaustion.”

“Do you want to get together tomorrow?”

He considered it for about two seconds. “My weekend’s pretty booked with work and stuff. Monday? We could maybe go out for real this time?”

“Sounds good. I’ll call you when I get up Monday and we can hammer out the details.”

“Okay.”

Shane collected his clothes and dressed, taking his time because Noel was watching. The opposite of a striptease, and Shane kind of loved the novelty of it. He meant his good-night kiss to be soft, quick, but Noel held him tight and devoured his mouth until Shane was breathless and half-hard. God, he could kiss Noel for hours and not get tired of it. But he saw the fatigue in Noel’s eyes, and it was time to leave.

“See you soon,” Shane said. “And thanks for dinner.”

“You’re welcome, cowboy.”

Shane strolled back to his car with a bounce in his step, positive he’d never be able to hear the word “cowboy” again without thinking of Noel Carlson.

When not exorcising the voices in her head, she toils away in a retail job that tests her patience and gives her lots of story fodder.  She can also be found in her kitchen, pretending she’s an amateur chef and trying to not poison herself or others with her cuisine experiments.

I absolutely love this book!  Part Indiana Jones, part Tomb Raider, part Monument Men, this is a story of intrique and vigilante justice.  Add in sweet romance and sizzling sex scenes, and Patricia Logan has written aperfect story.

This is the story of Ranger.  A former marine, awarded the silver star for gallantry, he is out of work and nearly homeless when Logan introduces him.

Landry is the incredibly wealthy man who hires Ranger to be his bodyguard.  Landry comes across as a male Lara Croft – with a few more secrets.

The two men are from very different worlds.  For very different reasons, neither man trusts easily and it takes some time and bullets before the men start to work together as true partners.

With a hot LAPD detective after them and a cranky butler looking out for them, the story hurtles from one adventure to another.

I hadn’t realised this was a sequel to The Superstar until the characters from the first book were introduced.  This is a darker, more sombre story.  Logan has spent considerable time and effort researching the world of antiquities and the fate of antiquities in Nazi occupied Europe.  Her research pays off and allows The Thief to be a much more complex, multi-layered book than The Superstar was.

The Thief will appeal to a different audience than The Superstar and is very much a stand-alone novel.

I love this and can’t recommend it enough!

This was my first book by this author and it definitely won’t be my last.  The writing was very descriptive and the dialogue was great.

This story was about Ranger a bodyguard/military man.  Loved him, he was down on his luck and struggling to make it day to day but gave his last dollar to a homeless woman, right then I knew this character could do no wrong. Finally a friend found him a job and I loved how he came into that job taking control.  He fell for a art thief, Landry who he was supposed to protect. I thought Landry was a spoiled rich guy, but the sparks flew between the two, and their romance was entertaining.

I found myself laughing out loud at the bedroom scene!  Belzer, the servant was very entertaining and added to the story.

This was an excellent suspense story that kept me interested through out.  I really enjoyed reading it and highly recommend it.

Some hot and heavy romance with your art thefts anyone? Yes Please!!
When I saw the post about this book being available for review, I didn’t even need to read the synopsis, I saw the author’s name and requested it. I read the first book in the Bodyguard series, The Superstar, and I really enjoyed it!!! The Thief, is Patricia Logan’s second book in the Bodyguard series, but it can be read as a stand-alone,
Our Hero’s!!! And, Yes they are both Heros, Landry and Ranger deliver this instalment of the Bodyguard series with humour and vulnerability that will tug at your heart strings and have you laughing out loud the next line.
Landry is a very unassuming hero. He is on a quest, with the best of intentions and you will be moved with the motivation behind it all. I was extremely impressed with the knowledge Patricia Logan shares about the art world and some other historical events that she describes in amazing and incredible detail. My jaw dropped quite a few times!!
Ranger, the Bodyguard, a former Navy Seal is sexy, rough, vulnerable at times, and that makes him the perfect companion, partner, lover for Landry. He doesn’t take any crap but you also know that when it gets right down to it, he WILL have your back and you most definitely want someone like Ranger on your side!!! He pulls Landry out of his shell, and gives him confidence to go after what he wants, and what Laundry wants is Ranger. The chemistry was intense!!! There were some very tender moments and they made me smile through tears. And Belzer, the Butler, an added bonus and perfect companion to this story. He was feisty and funny.
I really enjoyed this journey with Laundry and Ranger!!!!

“I know it’s silly… please don’t laugh at me but, I just imagine you came in and swept me off my feet, picked me right up and set me on the back of your white horse and made me… well… you made me feel complete Ranger.” Landry chuckled. “Ranger… you complete me… I love you.” Ranger lay there quietly listening, probably stunned by Landry’s revelation. “You don’t have to say anything back to me, baby, but I just wanted you to know… I love you.”

Landry quieted, listening to Ranger’s breathing as something suddenly dawned on him. He frowned.

“Ranger?” he whispered. “Baby?” Landry let go of the gorgeous hair he loved so dearly and reached around, pushing gently at Ranger’s shoulders. Ranger breathed deeply, his chest rising and falling. “Ranger…” Landry said a little louder. He frowned and pushed at Ranger as he felt his flaccid cock slide out of his ass. “Ranger!” Landry squirmed out from under him as he finally pushed hard on Ranger’s pecs.

Ranger groaned and rolled to his back and Landry rolled with him, propping himself up on one elbow as he looked down into Ranger’s relaxed face. His long black eyelashes lay against his cheeks. When his mouth fell open, he let out a loud snore. “Khhaaaaa!”

“Are you fucking kidding me?” Landry asked. “Are you ASLEEP?”

Synopsis

When Rocky met Dex, it was hate at first sight. Country superstar Dex Dexter represented everything that budding rock star Rocky McCoy had left behind him in the Deep South – the religion, the homophobia, the hypocrisy, the lies. And Rocky represented everything that Dex had denied, had turned away from, had refused…

When Rocky met Dex, it was love at first touch. Double booked in the same slot on the main stage at CrossFest, they fought for the microphone like two dogs fighting over a bone. And when their hands met…

Rocky has had enough. “No more falling for straight guys. No way. No matter how hot. Especially if the ‘straight guy’ looks to me like a major closet case.”

Dex has had enough. “No way. I can’t be gay. I can’t lose my family, my friends, my career. I can’t.”

What they’ve had enough of doesn’t matter. It’s what they’ve never had enough of that will bring them together…

This was my first novel of Brad Vance’s but it won’t be my last. This was aheart-warming, gut-wrenching, realistic journey with our Hero’s, who are both struggling internally with their sexuality, during a time when it wasn’t as accepted to come out. The story is told in dual POV’s, and I loved that aspect.

Both men have a gift when it comes to music. The author including lyrics of songs added an extra personal touch to an already heart-warming story.

When Norman aka Rocky meets Dex, they can’t stand each other but there is also an attraction they are fighting and the author describes it so good that you can’t help gobbling up the pages just to feel more heat from this chemistry.

The author does a phenomenal job of capturing your attention from Page 1 and you gladly let your heart follow this beautiful, sexy journey with two men who deal with disappointment, adversity, pain in a way that will have you cheering for them to get what they need and most heartfully deserve!

“And when I thought i’d lost it all, You’re the one who was there for me, When I had no faith in myself, you had a little faith in me” ….Beautiful!!

I was a little disappointed that the story was mostly regarding the past lives of Dex and Rocky.  I would have liked a little more present day story. I get that the author wanted you to have a clear picture of how they grew up, and he did an excellent job of writing that.  I found Rocky’s dad disgusting with his views of gay people.  The author took on a very big subject of bigotry, but wrote and expressed it very well.

Dex and Rocky were great characters.  I felt for Dex having to hide his sexuality while growing up, loved his part when Katrina came.  I think that was one of my favorite parts, made the story more real.  I felt Rocky on the other hand let guys like Nico use him and he had to struggle more with relationships.  I loved the ending with how they ended up being together, nice closure for the story.

It was a good story and I look forward to reading more by this author.

  1. Do you name your books before or after you write them? How about the synopsis?

Thanks for letting me visit!  The titles vary – “Have a Little Faith in Me” was just named “Rocky and Dex” until late in the process.  “A Little Too Broken” was a title I had set in stone from the beginning, since the whole story stemmed from that concept.  The one I’m working on right now had the title right away.  It’s a romance between a software billionaire and a hacker who may or may not be trustworthy – so it’s called “Would I Lie To You?”

The synopsis definitely comes last.  Usually right before I publish!  I’ve gotten pretty good at coming up with those at the last minute, I think.

  1. Do you read books? What genre is your favorite?

Oh yeah, I read a lot.  Right now, it’s mostly research for settings, historical periods, etc.  I’m working my writing job and my “Day Job” for a little while longer, but I’m about to become a full time writer.  Then I’m going to make more time to read for pleasure again.  But I do love history – a good history has a better narrative than most novels.

  1. What is one tip that you wish someone had told you?

Hmmm.  I’d say “be yourself” when you’re marketing yourself and your books.  When I started doing erotica 2.5 years ago, I read so much claptrap about “building your brand” and “managing your web presence” and all this sterile, corporate crap.  So I saw marketing as…well, just like something you’d do in a cubicle, in an office.  Kill me, right?  So I either didn’t do it, or I did a terrible job of it.  Finally I just said, fuck it, I’m just going to get on Facebook and do interviews and be my crazy self and if people don’t like it, they won’t like my books either, so that’s fine.  Now I have a blast doing it.

  1. What is one thing not included in your bio? Something random that most people don’t know about you?

Ummm…if it’s something most people don’t know about me, there’s a reason for that J

  1. If you couldn’t write in the genre you normally write in, what genre would you chose?

History.  Popular narrative history, it’s so exciting.  In the mean time, I love writing historical erotica and romance.  One of my upcoming projects is about an English knight and a French Knight who fall in love during the Hundred Years’ War.

  1. Do you have any special rituals/habits that you do when you write?

I have to have music.  Silence makes me crazy, it unnerves the hell out of me.  It’s a good excuse to buy music, though, since if it’s necessary for my creative process, it’s tax deductible as far as I’m concerned!

  1. If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything about your latest book?

No…I’ve gotten dinged in reviews because the book is heavier on backstory than on the contemporary parts, but you can’t look back.  I am planning on not doing that so much in the next book, though.

  1. Do you have anything specific to say to your readers?

Well, thank you!  When I started out, I was told that I was making a mistake by writing erotica, romance and erotic-paranormal all under the same name.  But I’m finding that my hardcore fans will read anything I write, which is great.  I did create a new name, “Adam Vance” for my non-gay, non-erotic science fiction, and some of my fans have even read that and enjoyed it.

  1. Do you ever experience writer’s block? If so, how do you break it?

Nope!  I’m a machine!  I always have ideas, and I’m always working.  Knock on wood.  I get writer’s fatigue where I’ll take off a week, at most, but then I’m recharged and ready to go again.

  1. What’s next for you as a writer?

My pipeline is full.  Right now I’m working on another in my stepbrothers series, “Kyle’s New Stepbrother” – I’m working on #5 right now.  “Would I Lie to You,” in progress.  “Adam Vance” needs to write the next book in his science fiction series.  There are more adventures to be written in the “Colum’s Viking Captivity” series.  My knights in the Hundred Years War…I don’t think I left anything out!

Quickies…

Dog or Cat?  Cat

Favorite Color?  Blue

Favorite curse word?  FUCK

Short or tall? A man can be short, if he’s tall where it counts.

Favorite holiday?  July 4th.

Morning or Night? Morning.

Ninjas or Pirates?  Hmm they’re both stealthy.  Pirates are dirty which is good, but, they’re smelly and have bad teeth … I’m gonna go with ninjas.

Excerpt

Rocky picked up the Gibson Hummingbird. Chris Cornell played one of these. What more did he need to know?

He knew exactly what he wanted to play. How many times had he played this song, how many times had he stretched his voice, discovering his own vocal range. The notes of “Like a Stone” flowed from his fingers in a waterfall, and the words were a flock of birds banking wildly in front of the cascade, flirting with disaster.

He came to the end, the roaring finish, his eyes closed as he sang the epic wave of notes in the last word of the song, “alone.”

He’d only ever played the song when he was alone with Korey, who was no cheerleader. Korey would nod, say, “Good job.” And then tell him where he missed something.

When he was done, he opened his eyes. His new friends were speechless. “Was it okay?” he asked doubtfully.

“Holy fucking great mother of God,” Rick gasped. “Who the fuck are you? Where did you come from?”

Rocky smiled. “Under a rock. I’ve been living under a rock.”

This a very short story.  This book screamed sexual harassment on the job.  I did find it amusing how Andy and Cody argued about whether or not Cody was gay. I liked the sexual tension between the two as they worked together.  The dialogue between the two was excellent.

The author left you hanging wanting to know what in the world happens on the hiking trip.  There was just enough in this short story to leave you wanting more.  I enjoyed Sibley Jackson’s Performance Series and I’m sure this short story series is going to be just as enjoyable.

The drama of humanity. We live, die, love, hate, win and lose in a never-ending variety of ways. Often those ways are heart-wrenching. Other times they are not.

Why do people make the choices they do? Why do some abuse power? How do the powerless learn to survive? Why do a few dare to be different, while others conform—and why are so many disturbed by those who don’t?These are the questions that have always haunted author Caddy Rowland. Those questions keep her pounding away at her keyboard, creating novels showcasing the sublime joy and bitter tragedy of being human.

Caddy has always been a nonconformist. She likes to push the proverbial envelope when it comes to characterization and world building. Heroes have warts; villains have soft spots. Main characters don’t always learn their lessons because all too often we don’t, either. There isn’t always a happy ending, but sometimes there is. Otherwise she’d be predictable.

She writes for readers who like to think and feel; who like their stories to be raw, graphic, unpredictable, “real” and sometimes brutal. For readers who like their boundaries challenged; to be shown how rarely life decisions are truly black and white, but instead shades of grey.

Think of a carnival midway with books instead of rides. She asks you make sure you’re the minimum height if you plan on riding alone. You must also leave prejudices and inhibitions behind the entry gate. If you can’t, Rowland’s reads might be a tad much for you. Don’t worry. There are plenty of safer reads out there. Just step out of the line and find a more appropriate book for your reading enjoyment.

No, Caddy Rowland’s novels aren’t for everyone. But then again, they just might be for you.

Each book in this series keeps getting better. I love that these books have such a good story that draws you into the book.  I get so hooked into the characters in this series and can’t wait to find out what they will get involved in.

The main characters in this book were Ty and Cole.  I loved Cole with his unfiltered mouth and his just letting it all out without thinking.  He was a very strong character that worked so hard at getting Ty out of his shell.  I thought Ty was very quiet and kept to himself, until he met Cole.

This book had laughter, action and very romantic love story.  A perfect book that kept me totally hooked until the end. I can’t wait until the next one comes out.

Rating: 5 Intense Stars!!

I was very excited when I found out Cole’s story was coming!! I have read the two previous stories in this series, and I highly recommend reading them first. (A Better Man, A Haunted Man)

Stories like the one’s Jaime Reese writes are the reason why M/M genre is my favourite to read. I love when you get Hero’s that are intense, passionate, vulnerable, and sexyyyy! This author pulls you in, without you even realising it, and you are laughing, crying and falling in love right along with them.

Cole…oh boy, has he got a mouth on him and I loved every wise-crack, heart-felt, dirty word that came out of him. Cole is the newest member of the Halfway House run by Julian and Matt, and they are still as much fun!

Ty, sigh “MyTy”, was my favourite out of all the crazy nic names Cole came up with. Ty is traumatized and scarred by a horrific accident in his very recent past, and Cole is not what he expected but did he ever shake up Ty’s world and it was perfect!!! They are incredible, amazing and so good together.

And if you are a fan of Jaime Reese then you know there is a villain, and the delivery, execution, take down of said villain is truly brilliant. Every scene actually in this story feels very realistic.

Jaime Reese is an incredible author and the journey’s she takes you on are very heart-felt and sexy and definitely worth your time.

  1. Do you name your books before or after you write them? How about the synopsis?

It varies. For A Restored Man, the title came to me when I neared the end. I toyed with a few options as I wrote, but the final title became clear before I finish the book. The synopsis usually comes when I’m about three-quarters into the story.

Ironically, the next book in the series is throwing me off – but that doesn’t entirely surprise me. It’s Aidan and he’ll do whatever he wants. I already have a blurb roughed out and a few options for titles and I’m only a few chapters into the story.  So I’ve noted them and set them aside. I want to see how the story develops on its own rather than worry if the story can match the blurb.

  1. Do you read books? What genre is your favorite?

When I have time, yes. I usually look for a book in the M/M genre. I have a handful of M/F authors I go to as well.

  1. What is one tip that you wish someone had told you?

Releasing a book is incredibly stressful. 🙂

  1. What is one thing not included in your bio? Something random that most people don’t know about you?

I’m also a cover artist with a strong focus in M/M. It’s hinted at in my bio, but not outright stated. I design cover art under the name, Reese Dante.

  1. If you couldn’t write in the genre you normally write in, what genre would you chose?

At this time, I don’t see myself writing anything other than M/M.  My current release, A Restored Man, is a character-driven contemporary romance. A Hunted Man (the second book in the series) is a romantic suspense. So both are rather different but still share my overall style of writing. I like the idea of exploring different themes within M/M and I’m not afraid to take a chance, but my stories will always include a romance element and a happily ever after.

  1. Do you have any special rituals/habits that you do when you write?

I must be able to ‘see’ my characters first. I define them (or they define themselves) before I can write any part of the story. Once they’re defined, the story starts coming together. In the early stages of a story, I need to write in complete silence. 🙂 I will listen to music, sit outside and get some fresh air for a while before I start. But once I start writing, I prefer to focus on setting the stage without interruptions until the story gets going. Once I get far enough along into the story, I tend to find it easier to write, regardless of interruptions.

  1. If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything about your latest book?

At this time, no. Maybe if you ask me the same question in a year or two the answer might be different since some experiences may influence a different direction in the story. But for now, I wouldn’t change anything.

I will read and re-read the story to death before it releases and endlessly tweak details to the point I’m certain I drive my editor insane, but I need to make sure it’s the best it can be for the story I had in mind at that time. That way, when I release it, I don’t beat myself up with the ‘what ifs’.

I know I can’t please everyone and I’m sure some readers would offer a different alternative for sections of the story, but in my mind, that’s how the characters and scenes played out for me as I wrote the story.

  1. Do you have anything specific to say to your readers?

THANK YOU. I appreciate you more than you will ever know.

  1. Do you ever experience writer’s block? If so, how do you break it?

It’s happened but I don’t dwell on it. I either skip whatever part is stopping me and jump to another scene, or just work on my cover art projects. If I worry too much about the writer’s block, I find it gets worse. I’m lucky to have both writing and cover art to focus on so I can juggle both depending upon what inspires me at the time.

  1. What’s next for you as a writer?

I’m currently working on the next book in the series (it will be Aidan’s story). It’s darker than my norm (for me at least) so I’m writing it a little at a time so it doesn’t weigh on me as much.

I’m also toying with another story I’ve had circling in my mind for some time. I have no idea if I’m going to finish it, but it’s been pushing me quite a bit lately. I probably won’t make any announcements until it’s completely written and well into edits. It’s something I want to do, but if I can’t do it justice, I probably won’t release it.

Both are still in the early stages but at least I have a tentative plan in mind.

Quickies…

Dog or Cat? Dog.

Favorite Color? Depends.

Favorite curse word? F*ck.

Short or tall? Depends.

Favorite holiday? Christmas.

Morning or Night? Night.

Ninjas or Pirates? Ninjas.

This was a very intense series.  This book was my favorite one out of the series.  The story of Ash and Pete was so full of realistic issues and the writing was done so well you could easily visualize the scenes and characters. It was heartbreaking all they went through just to be together.

All the parts about Pete’s job were heart wrenching, with what he had to deal with.  Trying to sort it out once he was done working was difficult but the author handled it beautifully.  Ash too, went through major issues but it was written so well I couldn’t put it down until I knew how it turned out. They both had so many secrets they kept from each other that every time you turned a page a new one showed up.

If you haven’t read this series you definitely need to.  It will tear apart your emotions with all the awful things that happen to the two wonderful characters. Beautifully written and one you won’t be able to put down.

FiveStars

To start off, this book, Rare, is the 3rd in a series, and I strongly urge you to read the others: I was graciously provded all 4 books in this series. And I am ecstatic to have found a new incredible author!! I love reading M/M genre for the intensity and passion, and when the author is as good as Garrett Leigh, the intensity and steam is palpable through the pages. Seriously, hot stuff…phew!!

Here is the (must read) reading order:
Slide
Marked ( #1.5)
Rare
Freed ( #2.5)

This series is Ash and Pete’s gut-wrenching, heart-felt, brutal, beautiful journey.

Slide, is the gut-wrenching introduction of Ash and Pete. Ugly cry tears and smiles! READ IT!!

Marked, is a little peek in to one night from Slide that didn’t get elaborated. This is a great tidbit to quench your thirst for more of the intensity between Ash and Pete.

Freed, is another juicy glimpse in the life of Ash and Pete. It should be read after Rare…. to get the full effect of this brutal, beautiful journey.

Rare… by the time you have finished Slide and Marked, you are invested and really want to know how these sometimes tortured, beautiful men are doing. Well buckle up and hang on for the extraordinary ride in this installment of Ash and Pete. This was excruciatingly heart-wrenching to read but I couldn’t put it down!! I devoured it in one sitting. More tears, and smiles!!

Garrett Leigh likes to write angsty, intense, tortured Hero’s and she certainly nails it in all 4 of these books. She has a phenomenal way with words. This was an incredible series. I highly recommend jumping in!

PETE HAD been busy while I’d been gone. I stood in front of the shiny new door to his apartment and wondered for a moment if I’d come home to the right place. Then I remembered the coarse message he’d sent me a few days ago, telling me in no uncertain terms what a bitch the new door had been to fit. A separate message—perhaps an afterthought—told me he’d left a key on top of the frame.

I reached for it and turned it over in my hand. It was silver and shiny. The old one was battered brass, bruised and familiar. It felt heavy in my pocket as I slid the new key into the lock. I considered the fate of the old key now that the door it belonged to was no longer there. Pete said I pondered the strangest things.

The new door swung open with a whisper. It felt odd after two years with a door that crunched like a gearbox. The new door was like a ghost, all shimmery and silent. I wasn’t sure I liked it.

A wry grin crept over my face. Really? Four days without Pete and you’re worried about a door? I took a tentative step forward. The door closed with a quiet click, and this time, I paid it no heed.

I glanced around the apartment. It was quiet and still. No TV, stereo, or signs of life. That was no surprise. I was a few hours early. Despite hating every moment of the flight between Chicago and Philadelphia, I’d caught an earlier plane home. Pete wasn’t expecting me, but I could feel in my bones that he was home. The invisible cord between us pulled me along, and a minute later, I found him passed out in our bed. He was asleep on his stomach, something he only did when he was alone or too tired to notice. It used to make me uneasy—sometimes it still did—but not today. Today his bare back was exactly what I needed to see. I sat down by his head and brushed my fingers over his stubbly jaw. He didn’t stir, even when I leaned down and breathed in the clean smell of his skin.

If you are looking for a fast sexy read, this one is for you. Wow, love how Summer just let’s go with Ben on the plane.  But really, what was she thinking going home with a complete stranger (Ben)!  What a surprise when she gets there.  Rachael did a wonderful job catching everything into this fantastic short story.  The intensity of the sex at the apartment was hot and steamy.  But I couldn’t believe after all that, Summer walks away. Gotta say, the ending was awesome.  Excellent read by a wonderful author.

I was given this book for an honest review by Inked Rainbow Reads.

What can I say? This book had some HOT sex. Man, twins too! Yummy!  Bryce and Ben, twins in ALMOST every way… Summer is one lucky lady.

The plane scene was amazing! Everyone knows it’s hard to hear on the plane, so it’s the perfect spot! But, the scene at the house… MAN!

Despite the story being a little predictable, I really enjoyed it. Let’s just say that the author gave me a new wardrobe to wear on a plane ride!

“Ah, horrible timing as usual. Summer, meet Bryce, my twin. I told you I had a surprise for you. Although, now I’m wondering if I should’ve saved you all for myself.” Ben nipped at my bottom lip before stepping back. “After our little adventure on the plane, I knew you would be just the right woman to share with my brother. See, it takes a special woman to keep the interest of two men. A woman who can handle having the full attention of two men, four hands, two tongues, and two needy cocks. Do you think you can handle it?”

Mother by day. Writer by night. I spend a majority of my day with my children and reading while my nights are filled with the sound of the keyboard as I work on my next work.

I have written in F/F, F/F/M, F/F/F and then of course F/M genres…. So, beware, I do not always have the most ‘traditional’ scenes. And one day I will venture into M/M, just have to find the time.

I love to try new things and learn from every piece of work I write. I’ll write just about anything once to learn from it. I’ve even ventured out of my normal erotica genre into Monster Erotica. Doubt you’ll find me writing anything not erotic as you can barely get me to even read something out of that category, but then again, you never know what I might try next.

Never stop learning. Try everything at least once.

This series just grabs you and pulls you in.  This book was about Cam and Hunter.
Julian and Matt are back along with Sam.  Julian with his sense of humor and Matt the caring caretaker.  There was some mystery, suspense along with humor and a love story.  Found myself not wanting to put this book down I was so drawn into the story.
Cam and Hunter’s love story was so romantic. Cam was broken in a way that left him unsure and feeling very guilty.  Hunter was an attorney, strong, confident and very sure of himself.  He did everything he could for Cam to move on. Very touching story.

I love how Jaime Reese writes so beautifully with so much emotion.  You just become part of the book as your reading.  Can’t wait for book 3.

This was a fantastic story. It had a little of everything, humor, love and drama.   It had a wonderful plot that wasn’t just sex. It kept me interested and I adored Julian and Matt.  It was so refreshing to read a story that involved two men trying to make a difference.

Julian was charming and quick witted, found myself chuckling at his comebacks.  Such a strong, caring guy coming from an abusive childhood.  Matt was on edge about everything, but I loved how they came together and slowly built their relationship.  It was great how they had to work at the relationship and slowly trusted each other more and more.  Best part of the whole book was when they took on Matt’s mom and the dad came around.  Loved that part.

I expect the next book to just as good and can’t wait to read what happens at the halfway house.

What an emotional book. Andrew Grey knows how to write.  He really covered everything regarding getting a horrible diagnosis.  Getting Cancer takes a toll on the whole family and friends, not just the sick person.  This story covered it all, all aspects of emotions that the family goes through. But it reminds you that not all things turn out bad and with a little faith everything gets better.

Geoff and Eli are one strong  couple. I loved how they depended on each for everything.  I was so happy that family didn’t let Eli down in the long run.  Geoff struggled through so much taking care of Eli and it was captured beautifully.

You’ll find yourself laughing and crying with all the emotions Andrew Grey puts you through.  Once again he has written a beautiful love story.
